چکیده
The epiphrenic esophageal diverticulum is a rare non-malignant condition that commonly associated with motility disorders. It would normally be treated surgically, but the advancement of endoscopy techniques, peroral endoscopic myotomy septotomy (D-POEM) has shown its benefits in coping symptoms. We present case 71-year-old woman increasing symptoms dysphagia, weight loss and imaging data showing large diverticulum. her using combined diverticular septum. procedure showed excellent results reducing amount contrast materials retained it, improving quality life patient, weight. There were minimal adverse events no perforations or severe effects occurred. D-POEM new rapidly evolving proving to safe effective method treating

Epiphrenic diverticulum of the esophagus after peroral endoscopic myotomy.
A 34-year-old man was referred to our hospital because of chest pain and dysphagia that had lasted for 5 years. Endoscopy showed a tight esophagogastric junction (●" Fig.1). On high resolution manometry (Star Medical, Tokyo, Japan), the mean lower esophageal sphincter (LES) pressure and integrated relaxation pressure were 44.3 and 43.3mmHg, respectively (●" Fig.2). Type II achalasia was diagnos...
متن کاملSalvage peroral endoscopic myotomy for esophageal diverticulum.
Esophageal diverticulum often causes secondary dysmotility. If a diverticulum associated with a functional disorder is growing and exacerbating symptoms, surgical treatment is usually indicated [1,2]. Peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) was introduced by Inoue et al. in 2010 as a novel treatment technique for achalasia [3]. Here, we report our clinical experience of salvage POEM for esophageal di...

Zenker’s diverticulum is a rare disease occurring in less than 0.5% of the global population. Currently, the diverticuloscope-assisted diverticulotomy represents the traditional procedure, the diverticuloscope enabling better exposure of the muscular fibers. Although effective and safer than surgery, this technique could be complicated by perforation, which is reported in as many as 6.5 % of pa...
متن کاملGastric Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy
Gastroparesis (GP) is a syndrome characterized by delayed gastric emptying in the absence of mechanical obstruction of the stomach or proximal small bowel. Currently available dietary and medical therapies are limited and have suboptimal efficacy. Pylorus-directed therapies have showed promising results. Gastric peroral endoscopic myotomy (G-POEM) has been reported for the treatment of GP refra...
متن کاملPerspective on Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy for Achalasia: Zhongshan Experience
Worldwide, peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) has achieved remarkable initial outcomes in the treatment of achalasia. In China, POEM has developed very quickly since the first case was performed in our center in August 2010. With ex-perience, we have successfully performed POEM for special cases (such as pediatric patients, patients with sigmoid-type esophagus, and patients with recurrent sympto...
